 Circular 5/2008                                                                                      23 January 2008

Dear Parent

TRANSPORT OF LEARNERS

The safety of our learners to and from sport and cultural meetings, is a high priority.

The above-mentioned implies, that certain rules and regulations must be in place, should learners be transported:

If learners are transported by school bus the driver must have both a PDP licence and a normal car licence.

Parents may not transport learners at the back of a bakkie (with or without a canopy) or on any motor bike.

The number of children to be transported, will depend on the capacity registered for that particular vehicle.

Only parents who are in possession of a valid licence may transport learners.

Parents may make arrangements to transport their friend’s children.

You must ensure that your child is transported in a roadworthy vehicle.

You must ensure that your vehicle has comprehensive insurance.

If the school has given you a mandate to transport learners, the learners are covered by contingency liability.

We thank you for your willingness to assist with the transporting of our children.

Durbanville greetings
