EXAMINATION

 

 

1.                   ACADEMIC

 

As mentioned in the curriculum circular, the examination commences on Tuesday 17 June 2008.  You have already received all the information with regard to the examination and the closing times.

 

We would, however, once again like to draw your attention to the following:

 

For the duration of the examination, school closes at 13:00.

Learners may not wait at the gate for parents/lift clubs for longer than 15 minutes.

The learners (as indicated on Addendum A) who do not go home, will be accommodated at the school until 14:00.

The arrangement is not applicable to learners who attend the aftercare.

 

Learners must take the examination seriously and use their time wisely.  Questionnaires will be written at 08:30 every morning and learners who are absent, must present a doctor’s certificate.

 

2.                   SPORT AND CULTURAL PRACTICES DURING THE EXAMINATION

 

The portfolio heads have scheduled fitness and skills practices as well as cultural practices during the examination, as it will be approximately five weeks from the commencement of the examination to the beginning of next term before practices will be resumed again.  These practices will take place during school hours (from 12:00 to 13:00) to ensure that all learners leave school at 13:00.

 

Most of the age groups will only be involved in one or two days.  These learners will be able to wear their PT clothes on their specific practice days.  During these practices, the other learners will be kept busy constructively in the classrooms.
