Dear
Parent
GATE AT
PARKING AREA / RINGING OF THE BELL / LEARNER CONTROL
1.
GATE AT
PARKING AREA
A new
electronic gate has been installed at the entrance to the parking area
which is used by the staff, as this will provide added security and
safety for everyone.
This
entrance gate, will therefore, no longer be accessible to learners and
parents as a drop off zone.
We kindly
request our parents/learners to use the entrance gate at the parking
area of the church.
We trust
that you will be in agreement with this.
2.
RINGING OF
THE BELL
The first
bell rings at 07:30. This indicates the time for the scholar patrol
members to report for duty at Weyers and Van der Byl Avenues.
Durbanville Primary’s school day commences at 07:55, when the bell rings
for the learners to line up at the designated areas. A second bell
rings at 07:57, which indicates that the learners should walk to their
classrooms. Parents must please take note of the fact, that it is an
electronic clock and the accuracy therefore, may be influenced by the
electricity supply.
3.
LEARNER
CONTROL
The WCED
stipulates that the presence of learners must be controlled daily.
Thus, our head prefects control the timeous arrival of the learners in
the morning, to determine whether there is a pattern by some learners.
After 08:00 the names of late comers will be written down by them, as
this conforms with the stipulation of the WCED.
Kind
regards
C.J.
